July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2007
1. Please submit three copies of each grant request.
2. No more than one grant application may be submitted by any applicant.
3. Grants will be considered only from recognized, non-profit educational institutions
within Rockland County. Proof of non-profit status may be required.
4. Grants for the 2006 - 2007 fiscal year will be directed primarily to institutions or
agencies that offer Jewish educational programs for children with Special Education needs. The term Special Education needs will be defined broadly for the purposes of this grant.
5. Preference will be given to identifying and serving the unserved or underserved
children.
6. Grants will be no greater than $5,000 per recipient and are not necessarily renewable.
7. Grants may be used to enhance staff or for the purchase of capital equipment.
Modification of areas used to provide special education might also be considered.
8. Grants are to be additive and not to be used to replace present funds. Preference will
be given to new initiatives by an institution or agency.
9. The outcome of the grants must be measurable so that reports can be submitted and
the committee can evaluate the outcome and determine future funding.
10. The recipient must make recognition of the Jewish Federation of Rockland grant
in a way mutually agreed upon by Jewish Federation of Rockland and the recipient.
11. The committee would look favorably at proposals that utilize the services of
Jewish Federation agencies.
12. For this 2006 – 2007 grant, no overhead (indirect costs) may be submitted as part
of the budget.
13. Grant requests are to be submitted by May 15, 2006.
14. Applicants will be notified of results of committee decisions by June 15, 2006.
