and Sandra Newman, teachers at Temple Beth El, were awarded the prize based
on their submission of "The Jewish Life Cycle
- The Jewish Wedding" To teach Life Cycle to their seventh grade students, the three teachers created a program to teach the historical and halachic (Jewish law) background, minhagim (traditions) and Torah basis for the Jewish wedding. The students create a Ketuba (Jewish marriage contract), a wedding Chupah (marriage canopy) and Kiddush cup.
